I am sorry that I have not been blogging because lately i've been skiing in New Zealand which was fabulous! However, it has been apparent that interest in fashion is something that comes naturally. And trust me, I have been in the thick of the fashion world.
Over July and August, i've been obsessed with various designers, the latest trends of spring, various models, vintage fashion and shoes. But hardly given the oppurtunity to express myself, this has all been bottled up in a CHANEL vixen nailpolish.
Obviously I love CHANEL and Karl Lagerfeld (designer), from their double c's to the quilted totes, what's not to love?? I also love Alexander McQueen for his flesh lace designs and four fingered clutches. But alas, who can really match the spectacular flowing creations of Valentino, who is sadly retired. When I was 13, I told myself that if I was ever the famous and succesful actress that I hope to become, that I would wear a Valentino gown to the Oscars.
With so many things to say, i'll start on Spring trends.
The trends are soft, delicate pieces in pastels and the lightest shades possible. Florals are obviously a must in spring and again, the flowers should be either humongous or tiny. Another repeated trend, is nautical. This means horizontal stripes (vertical makes you look too prisonerish), polka dots and if you can a pair of SEBAGO docksides made in the U.S.A. go for it. The overall colour scheme of spring is light with the navy trend being really the only outlet for bright reds, blues, bold whites and blacks.
However trends are trends and I think what you wear is more amazing when you let a pair of your personality shine through.
Also, I rummaged through my mom's wardrobe the other day to see a whole lot of pieces which are in trend right now, but that are at least 3 years old. Funny how fashion repeats itself?
I don't think so,
